A Korean Independence Movement Leader: Hong Jin

My late great-grandfather was a colleague and friend of another Independence movement worker, Lee Chang Chung.

Hong Jin was acquainted with Syng Man Rhee, younger man who had Ivy League education pedigree and his later wife who assumed the role of First Lady was Austrian. Mrs. Franchesca Rhee paid visits during Hong Jin's final days when Hong was hospitalized in Seoul Nation University affiliated hospital until his demise.

Hong Jin was buried with his estranged wife of more than 20 years in South Korea.

Despite Andong's Pungsan Hong measures to mediate family feuds between Andong Jo (~Cho) and Andong Kim clans during early Yi Dynasty, many Andong Kim's left Andong and proclaimed west of Mount Paekdu located in what is now known as North Korea where the original Pungsan dogs (similar in appearance with Russian Huskie looking more closely to German Shepard) were said to have been found as Andong. Meanwhile, Pungsan Hong is related to Pungsan Yu (~Ryu) clans, old neighbors near Hahoe Village of Andong, most notably known for Mask Dance some of which is used for exorcism.

The Japan's classic Noh Drama originated from Korea's Hahoe Village Mask Dance.
